Horton's Antique Clocks
745.
$100
French miniature tambour
case, 8.75" wide, 7.25"
high, retaining the original
finish on the mahogany
case but it does have some
scuffed places, mainly on
the bottom. Four brass ball
feet, brass sash with a
beveled
glass,
original
hands, and an original
paper dial. Hinged brass
back door, brass 8 day bal-
ance movement is run-
ning. $50-$100.

$150
Musical
carousel
novelty.
Winds on the base, activates on
the side. As music plays the red
partitions open revealing some
guy sitting inside tooting his
horn. Each of the partitions
have brass pockets on the back
side to hold cigars or cigarettes,
or something illegal. All over
the case are cupid characters,
love birds, and some weird
guys on the base. It is signed
underneath, "Made In Italy". It
has some age on it but I suspect
it was made in the last 50 years.
The music plays and the parti-
tions open slowly, and close,
and then the music stops. There
is plenty of time to grab a
smoke. $50-$100.

$25
Waterbury Clock Co. carriage
clock, "Meteor", ca 1906. Brass
case is 4.5" high, complete
except for the front glass. This
model does not have a back door
or glass, just the winding, set-
ting,
and
regulating
knobs.
Signed ivory dial has spider webs
in the bottom left corner, only
one hand and it is not correct.
One day movement is signed, has
time, strike, and repeat features.
Strikes hours and half hours and
is running. Push button on top to
request the last hour strike. It
strikes and repeats but does not
stop striking. That is not good,
service needed, maybe good for
parts only. Ly-Waterbury #321. $25-$50.

$25
Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co.
cabinet cased clock, "Pitkin",
ca 1913. Polished oak case is
12" high, 11" wide, rubbed
and highly polished. Two
columns on each side with
cast
bronze
ornaments.
Convex glass, plain sash, 5.5"
ivorine dial that has darkened
from an oil spot, and there
are original hands. Signed 8
day movement is running and
strikes hours on a Cathedral
gong, and half hours on a cup
bell. Complete paper label on
the back, turned ball feet,
correct metal back door, and a pendulum bob. Ly-Gilbert #590. $50-$100.
743.
$100
French three piece
alabaster set with
brass
ornaments
and trim. All the
attached pieces are
present, none miss-
ing. I failed to put
the base under the
candelabra on the
right, for the pic-
ture. The clock is a
portico type with
the movement can
suspended below the portico. There is a small stress fracture on the mar-
ble, under the urn, otherwise just the usual minor edge nicks. 8 day, time
only movement, complete, not signed. Nice one piece porcelain dial is not
signed. Good French hands and pendulum bob. At this minimum you
should be able to make something of this set. $100-$200.

$100
Seth Thomas Clock Co. 8 day OG
weight clock, ca 1874. Mahogany
veneered case is 29.25" high, case is
clean and polished, it has a few very
small veneer chips that are certainly
not prominent. The frosted glass
tablet is very nice replacement, the
dial is new, and there is no label
inside. The good attributes are; a pair
of period iron weights that are proper
for this model, old brass bob and
winding crank, signed lyre move-
ment, and it is in running order. A
good looking early clock that will
look great on the mantle. Ly-Seth
Thomas #2199. $100-$200.
