$50
Swiss 8 day novelty clock, fea-
turing the twelve zodiac signs in
place of the hours. The 12 signs
are inside brass circles, and the
circles and hands are encased in
two pieces of plastic. The dial is
signed, "Gubelin / Swiss 8
Days". The case is 12.5" high,
11.5" wide, and in excellent
condition. I would estimate the
piece is 25-50 years old. A
repair label on the back is dated
1991. 8 day watch movement
winds and sets in back and it is
running. The back is signed, "8 /
920253 / 15 Jewels / Swiss". A
very nice novelty clock. $100-$200.

Animated Swiss desk clock. An air-
plane propeller turns as the move-
ment ticks. Bronze case is 3.25"
wide, 2.25" high, decorative picture
frame type bronze border. The green
material I believe to be glass. There
is a small crack in the upper right
corner. The glass over the dial is
beveled and bowed. Nice gold dial, airplane with propeller, great hands,
and it is signed, "Swiss / Geneve / Swiss Made". Watch size movement,
two winding stems for spring and hands, and a slow-fast adjuster. I am not
sure if it is one day or 8 day, but I would think it would be 8 day. It is run-
ning great. $100-$200.

Waterbury Clock Company shelf
clock, "O.O.G. Weight", ca 1880's.
Mahogany (Zebra) veneered case is
26" high and from all indications is
all original, but not without some
flaws. There are a few tiny chips or
rough places, but overall it is a very
sound case. Both glasses are original,
has an excellent paper label, original
dial and hands, and an old bob and
winding crank. The dial has some
small flakes around the top and bot-
tom, but overall good for its age. The
30 hour brass movement is weight
driven, time, strike, and alarm. We
tested the movement with finger
pressure, not with weights, and found
the movement to be complete and
sound, and should run with the
weights in place, but we recommend
you check it over before hanging the
pair of old iron weights. The movement strikes on a coil gong and sounds
the alarm on a cup bell. Ly-Waterbury, pages 394-397. $75-$150.

"Wittnauer / 8 Day / West Germany",
and "Wittnauer Watch Co. / Western
Germany
/
Seven
(7)
Jewels,
Unadjusted", signed on the movement.
The movement is backwind and set, and
it is running. The case is glass and
onyx, with some brass trim. The case is
5" high, 4" wide. $50-$100.

Swiss novelty clock, with easel
stand, 4.5" high, 4" wide. The
wheel is sitting on an object resem-
bling a shovel, and a chain attached
as if to pull it. The chain is perma-
nently attached to the wheel. There
are 12 spokes for 12 hours, mark-
ers on four spokes for three, six,
nine, and twelve. The rim of the
wheel is marked for minutes, and
the minute hand reaches those
marks. Watch movement in the
back, opens like a watch to access
the movement and wind it. Also on
the back is a bowed glass in a hinged sash. It is running, but we suspect it
runs only one day. I cannot find a signature anywhere. $100-$200.

$50
Swiss desk clock with an easel
stand. It is 4" square, brass case,
border of metal, stone, and thin
strips of brass inlays. Flat beveled
glass over the dial. Brass colored
dial, numerals painted in three
dimensional effect, and it has very
fancy painted hands. The dial is
signed, "Mappin & Webb / Sao
Paulo",
and
"8
Days",
and
"France". The back is signed,
"Depose", and "2151", in two
places. Set, wind, and regulate, on the back. The 8 day movement is run-
ning. $100-$200.

$50
Swiss desk clock, with an
alarm. Brass case is 3.25"
square, held up by an easel
stand. Front edge is inlaid
with stone or metal, flowers
on the edge, and they also
have brass inlay. Beveled
glass over the dial. Dial ring
with painted numerals that
have slight wear. The inner
dial has remains of a paint-
ing but the subject matter is
not recognizable to me.
Hands
have
very
fancy
painted designs. "8 Days", signed on the dial ring. Signed on the back is
a name and serial number, but I cannot read where it was made or who
made it. The 8 day movement is running, hands are not seated very well;
the alarm set key needs attention. $50-$100.
