Horton's Antique Clocks
703.
$50
Miniature shelf clock, ca about 1880.
Complete label inside is signed,
"Congress Clock Comp.", a German
clock company. The little grain paint-
ed pine case is 11.5" high, front is
veneered with walnut, and overall in
generally good condition. Excellent
tablet featuring a delightful young
lady. Painted metal dial, good hands,
old pendulum bob, and missing only a
complete door latch. $50-$100.

$50
German mini shelf clock, probably
post World War 2. Walnut case is
clean, has some inlays on the front,
is 10.5" wide, and 9" high. Convex
glass in a silver sash, dial ring over
the wood front revealing the wood
in the center, dial signed, "Made In
Germany", and it has the correct
hands.
8
day
movement
is
unsigned, running, and striking a
standing Cathedral gong. Correct
pendulum bob and old key includ-
ed. $50-$100.

Waterbury Clock Co. oak kitchen
clock, "Hillsdale", ca 1906. Oak
case is 22" high, crusty with the
original finish intact. It looks fine
as is, now a rich medium oak color.
Good glass, two piece signed dial,
old hands, pendulum bob, and two
near complete paper labels on the
back. This particular clock has an
alarm feature, alarm movement in
the base and the alarm ring on a
brass bell. The running movement
is 8 day and strikes a coil gong on
half hours and hours. If you want a
nice, original, kitchen clock, you
could not go wrong with this one.

Seven
small
mantle clocks.
Four are Black
Forest
types,
of which three
are
mini
g r a n d fa t h e r s
with pendulum
and
weights,
one with a bird
that rocks, all
appear to be running. The fourth Black Forest is a mini wall cuckoo with
pendulum and weights. There are three mini clocks. 1. American-
unsigned, designed to be a match holder, and it is time only and running.
2. Made In England, time only and running. 3. Light oak case, time only,
running. Dial signed, "Made in Great Britain". $50-$100.

Ansonia Clock Co. ebony painted wood case
parlor clock, ca 1885. Some good, some bad.
The paint is bad, primarily on the left side,
but some other places missing a flake or so of
paint. The case is all there, and original,
including the metal corner base covers. It has
a great original tablet featuring some birds
and marshland scene. Old signed paper dial
is very brown, but very legible; hands very
likely are original, as is the brass and nickel
pendulum bob. The bell and dial rings are
nickel, but the outer dial ring is pretty sorry
looking, dirty and has extra holes. 8 day
movement is signed, dirty, complete, but will
run. This clock is very similar to many others
in the Ansonia catalogs, but I do not see this
exact clock pictured. $50-$100.

$75
Sessions Clock Co. oak kitchen
clock, "Assortment New A No.5",
ca 1906. Sessions did not use very
glamorous names for their clocks.
Like #707, this clock is near perfect,
original untouched 22.75" high oak
case, great original glass, signed
dial, correct hands, pendulum, key,
and it also has the alarm feature.
Alarm movement below the running
movement and it rings on a brass
bell. The time movement strikes a
Cathedral gong on hours and half
hours. The two silver dial rings are
pretty cruddy, but again, nothing has
been cleaned or touched in any way.
On the back is a near complete
paper label. It is very dark, but com-
pletely original. Ly-Sessions #559.
$100-$200.

Lux Clock Mfg. Co. signed on the dial of
this 9" high syroco case featuring a parrot
standing on a clock. A label on the back
says, "Deluxe / Art Clock / The Deluxe
Clock & Mfg. Co.". Backwind and set
movement runs some and quits, in other
words it is complete, just needs service.
The clock including the dial, hands, bezel,
and metal back, are all very nice. There is
some light wear on the syroco imitation
wood case, but the greens and reds are still
quite bright. $50-$100.
