$200
Cuckoo clock with a two tune
music box. Large polychrome
painted case with a carved
bird on top, a fox on the bot-
tom, and grapes and leaves all
over. The lyre shaped move-
ment is similar to many other
cuckoo clock movements and
is signed, "Made in Germany
/ Ed. Herr Sohne". The move-
ment is running, striking the
coil gong on the backboard,
and the music box plays prop-
erly. The carved case is 27"
high, has a few tiny nicks
from hauling, and a crack in
the birds tail feathers. The
three small iron weights and
pendulum are not pictured.
$200-$300.

the trade name of Joseph
Burger & Sons, of the Black
Forest, Germany. Deer head on
the top, carved grapes and
leaves everywhere else. Large
lyre shaped movement is one
day, dirty but functioning. The
top is good except for a broken
ear and antlers, the leaves are
all fine except for a minor
repair or so. Old chains, pendu-
lum,
and
three
old
iron
weights, not pictured. The

E. N. Welch parlor clock. The
movement is signed by Welch; it
is 8 day, running and striking on a
coil gong. The dial is not signed,
has an alarm set ring in the cen-
ter, but there is no alarm move-
ment in the case. There are holes
where an alarm was mounted. I
believe this is a case Welch sold
to Baird & Dillon or Colby
Wringer Co. I seem to remember
the original glass pictured four
horsemen. Maybe I am dreaming.
It is a very nice case, movement,
pendulum, and glass, but I am not
sure what is original. The very
attractive walnut case is 20.5"
high, original, clean, and pol-
ished. $150-$250.

$100
E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. parlor
clock, "Dolaro", ca 1885. It has
some problems. The biggest is the
missing leaf ornament on the tip
top, and a small piece of side trim
on each side. But wait, don't give
up on it. The Welch glass pendu-
lum sells between $50-$100. I
have sold a bushel of them. It has
an 8 day movement, coil gong
with base, and an alarm move-
ment with brass bell and alarm
ring in the dial. As is sits it is
21.5" high, has a door glass that
was probably replaced, a pair of
hands, and a winding key. Ly-
Welch #422. $100-$200.

Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. oak
kitchen clock, "Geranium No.3",
ca 1900. Oak case is 24" high,
complete, original, has not been
cleaned yet is very good looking as
it is. Complete label on the back,
original dial is soiled, and original
glass, wind key and pendulum. 8
day movement strikes a coil gong,
alarm movement rings on a brass
bell, and is running and striking.
Ly-Gilbert #1185. $150-$250.

$150
Cuckoo-Quail wall clock made
and signed by, "J. Miller & Co. /
Germany", ca 1900. Large carved
case is 22" high, not including the
pendulum. The top piece has been
repaired nicely in one place, and
the bottom leaf has been broken
and repaired so you cannot see
the break. Other minor imperfec-
tions, but nothing that should
deter you from buying the clock.
It has new bellows and was ser-
viced recently. The movement
was not cleaned but is running.
The hands and numerals may not
be original. There are three old
weights that are not pictured. Not
many years ago we were selling
Cuckoo-Quail clocks similar to
this one, for upwards of $1000.
$200-$300.
