Horton's Antique Clocks
651.
$125
United Clock Co. animat-
ed clock. It is near perfect.
I though at first it had
been restored, but after
examining
closely
I
believe it is like new and
perfect. Fish and other
water things cast in the
metal. Fisherman is hold-
ing his fishing pole with
line in the water, while the
visible fish swim around
the line. The animation,
light, and clock, are all
operating properly. Dial and movement cover are both signed properly.
The gold colored case is 12" wide, 10" high. $150-$250.

$150
French cast metal cartel clock with a
painted brass finish, 20" high, and
very heavy. 8 day French movement,
round plates, bell strike, and signed
"Japy Freres", which means it is no
sleazy, cheap clock. The movement is
probably worth $150. Metal sash
with a beveled glass over the back,
pendulum and key inside. Good
beveled glass covering the one piece
porcelain dial. The glass, dial, and
hands, are all very nice. The dial is
signed by a retail dealer. Two large
cupids on top, one arm is missing.
Flowers and vines on the sides, two
tassels on the bottom. $150-$250.

$100
Austrian gallery clock, 15.5"
high and 13.5" wide. It is a all
wood case, very attractive, paint-
ed ebony except for the ring
around the outside of the dial.
The ring has etched designs of
leaves and vines. The inner dial is
shaped like an inverted plate, and
it also has etched leaves and
vines, just not as pronounced as
those on the outside. Numerals
are thin brass strips nailed to the
case, and it has great brass hands.
The back door is a cuckoo type
with a coil gong attached to the
removable door. Clean brass
movement, silk thread suspended pendulum, outside count wheel in the
center of the back plate. It is a typical Austrian 2 or 3 day running move-
ment. It is not signed. Key and pendulum in the case. $100-$200.

$100
Mastercrafter
"Swinging
Playmates", animated electric
clock. Boy and girl swing, clock
runs, and light is working. Case,
dial, and swinging figures are
excellent. The plastic case is
10.75" high, 7.5" wide. Label
identifying the maker and clock
model, is on the back. It is com-
plete, all original, and everything
working properly. Paper scene
behind the swinging playmates.
$150-$250.

$100
Seth Thomas Clock Co. parlor
clock, "Dover", one of their City
Series clocks, ca 1898. It is factory
stamped on the back, "8981".
Walnut case is 21.5" high, in origi-
nal condition but crusty, with
smoke, etc. still on the wood. There
are no breaks or repairs, glass and
dial are both original, and hands
and pendulum are correct for this
model. Paper label inside, below
the pendulum. The 8 day movement
has an alarm feature that rings on a
brass bell. The movement is run-
ning strong and strikes the hours on
a Cathedral gong. This model is not
uncommon and still commands a
high resale value. Ly-Seth Thomas
#539. $150-$250.

$100
Walnut parlor clock, 21.5" high.
The label inside reads, in part, "8-
Day Sovereign / Parlor Clock,
Half Hour Slow Strike Cathedral
Gong
/
Manufactured
By
/
Charles F. Adams, Erie, Pa". This
is a fine parlor clock that was
made by the E. Ingraham Co. for
Adams about 1890. Adams was a
clock dealer and did not make his
own clocks. This case is much
thicker
and
stronger
than
Ingrahams made for himself. It is
made with good strong wood
pieces, i.e. the etched top, grooved
side columns with ornate capitals
and bases, grooves on the base
and top, and the door. The case is
apparently missing ornaments on
each side. Eight day movement is
signed Ingrahams, it is running
briskly, and strikes half hours on a nice Cathedral gong, and alarms on a
brass bell. The pendulum, dial ring, gong base, and bell, are all brass.
$100-$200.
