inch-
es wide at its
base. Beauti-
ful rosewood
veneer looks
like a fine piece of
furniture. Both glass-
es appear to be origi-
nal and the lower
tablet is great. 5 inch
dial is from the Dial
House with a won-
derful signature "J.C.
Brown, Bristol, CT.,
U.S."
Their
usual
high quality, 8 day
double fusee, time
and strike movement
signed "Forestville,
Mfg. Co, Bristol, CT,
USA".
Recently
overhauled complete
with new cables to
fusee drums. There
are extra holes in the
back board telling me it may have been repositioned or replaced at some
time. However, it is the correct back board. For the price, you can't beat this.
For more information, see "Jonathan Clark Brown and the Forestville
Manufacturing Company" by Roberts and Taylor, page 33. $5000-$7500.

Seth Thomas Clock Co. hanging,
"Queen Anne", ca 1883. The 36"
wood case has an ebony finish,
case is complete and original, and
the ebony finish is exceptional.
Most of the ST ebony cases had
cherry wood as the base, then
ebonized. We see a great many
cases where the black has been
removed, because cherry clocks
are worth considerably more these
days than ebony clocks. Look
close and you can always find
some black. Nice label inside and a
very good damascened pendulum
bob. Excellent original paint on the
dial, correct hands, brass ring, and
brass gong base. There are no extra
holes around the dial or movement.
Signed 8 day movement with out-
side fly on the strike and Geneva
locks still in place, and it is run-
ning and striking the Cathedral
gong properly. Ly-Seth Thomas,
page 326. Nice ones bring $2000
or more. $1500-$2000.

"J.C.

wonderful original rare
hands are attached to a
8 day time and strike
signed
"Forestville,

of this is super clean
and original, but the
best part are the glasses.
The glasses are perfect
and have never been out
of the door. The lower
tablet is of Buckingham Palace. This is the nicest one of these we have
seen. For more information see "Jonathan Clark Brown and the
Forestville Manufacturing Company" by Roberts and Taylor, page 39.

original dial, with some
very
minor
touch-up.
The tablet is original and
perfect as are the hands.
The top glass has the
gold reverse paint around
the edge as it should. The
movement is 30 hour
time only and original to
the case. All in all this is
about as straight a clock
as one could look for. It
is a must for the early
Connecticut or Jerome
collector. For more infor-
mation, see "From Rags
to Riches to Rags: Story of Chauncey Jerome" by Chris Bailey, page 95.
