Ansonia Clock Co. walnut parlor
clock, "Delhi", ca 1894. Clean
case is 23" high, perfect finish,
mellow walnut shade, complete
and all original. Wonderful glass,
one used
by Ansonia on several
parlor models, "Ansonia" signed
in the moon, lower left corner.
Original dial, hands, nickel pendu-
lum bob, and nickel dial rings. 8
day movement is running and
striking a coil gong. Iron gong
base is signed, "Ansonia Clock
Co. Top ornament on the case is
partially carved, and an extra
piece attached to the case body.
Unlike most wood cases it is not
one flat piece of wood. Ly-
Ansonia #1870. $150-$250.

$100
New Haven Clock Co. walnut parlor
clock, "Rhine", ca 1880. Near perfect
walnut case, stands only 21" high, and
is clean as a pin. It is all original,
includes the Minerva bust on top, brass
and nickel bob, nickel bell, nice origi-
nal glass, hands, two piece dial, nickel
dial rings, nickel alarm set ring, and
about half of a paper label on the back.
The alarm is built into the upper move-
ment, note the three wind holes in the
dial. The clock strikes hours and the
alarm rings on the same nickel bell. A
very nice parlor clock. Ly-New Haven
#1265. $150-$250.

Seth Thomas Clock Co. one of the
"Metal Series", ca 1900, this one
being "Metals No.5". I have prob-
ably sold 50 of the metal series
clocks over the years and a great
many of them were not exactly like
those pictured in the ST catalogs.
This clock is all original but you
will find a couple of oddities. The
attached side pieces opposite the
door are slightly different than
those in the catalog pictures. Also
the bottom metal ornaments are a
little different. We have noted this
time and again and speculate that
the factory was not too concerned
110 years ago about making each
"Metals No.5" identical. They used
whatever parts were lying around
the shop floor. Briefly, the 23" high
case is oak, clean, has an excellent
glass, bob, hanger, dial, hands, two labels, and a signed and running 8 day
movement. Ly-Seth Thomas #2288. $150-$250.

$175
Sessions Clock Co. oak wall clock, similar to
a great many German box clocks we have
sold, including #625 above. The 32" high oak
case is near perfect, rubbed, shining, and
retains the original finish. Two glasses in the
door, bottom slats give the appearance of
having three glasses similar to #625. Original
metal dial, hands, pendulum, and key. The 8
day movement is signed, running, and strik-
ing correctly. Not pictured in Ly-Sessions,
but it is an authentic Sessions clock.
Remnants of a label on the back, but of no
benefit. $200-$300.

Seth Thomas Clock Co. "Oxford",
one of six clocks in the College
Series, ca 1900. Oak case is 23"
high, extra clean, original, and very
nice. Everything now in the clock,
came with the clock, pendulum
bob, dial, hands, calendar knob,
calendar movement, brass alarm
bell, Cathedral gong, and the 8 day
running movement. About half of a
label remains on the back, but is
too dark to read. Everything is
operating as it should, dial is
slightly soiled and signed, and the
glass is original and identical to the
one in the catalog pictures. Ly-Seth
Thomas #2265. $200-$350.

E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. walnut parlor
clock, made for Colby Wringer Co.
or Baird & Dillon, two companies
that Welch sold clocks to in the late
1800's. There are no labels on the
back of this clock but you can tell
where
two
labels
have
been.
Typically the two companies men-
tioned would have had two labels on
their clocks. We have had dozens of
clock cases like this one. The pendu-
lum is a pressed glass type used on
the better Welch clocks, and these
pendulums alone sometimes sell for
up to $100. The walnut case has a lot
of style, nothing carved, just good jig
saw work by a good cabinetmaker,
and the use of awls to make the
grooved designs. The case is 23"
high, mostly cleaned of the goop, but some remain inside. Signed move-
ment is 8 day, gong strike, and has a separate alarm that rings on a brass
cup bell. Excellent original glass that features horses and riders in heavy
armor. The dial is curious. I assume Bubba covered some paint chips with
white paint. It is the only negative about this clock. $250-$400.
