Gustav Becker 2 weight Vienna Regulator, ca
1920-1930. The serial number on the nice 8 day
movement is, "1782774", and was made by GB in
1903. The case was made considerably later in the
Art Deco era. It is a beautiful walnut case with
some outstanding inlaid designs all over the front.
Only one glass, the round one over the signed, two
piece porcelain dial. It has a seconds dial and
hand, and two nice Vienna hands. It has an unusu-
al pendulum hookup, with prongs going 3-4 direc-
tions, designed to regulate the beat of the move-
ment. It is running and striking on a coil gong.
Brass bob, wood stick, two brass Vienna weights,
two brass pulleys, brass beat scale, and an old
brass winding crank. $500-$600.

Miniature Vienna Regulator, ca 1865. One
weight, time only, and the 8 day movement is
unsigned. The walnut case is 25" high but
should have something on top (there is one
hole) and should have a finial on the bottom.
Three glasses, beat scale, winding crank, brass
pendulum bob, wood stick, brass pulley, and a
small brass weight. Two piece porcelain dial
has a chip at a winding arbor and some hair-
lines. Brass dial rings, two nice Vienese hands,
and wood mounting blocks. The movement
slides into the wood mounting blocks and the
pendulum attaches to the backboard. The case
is not a cream puff and needs some finish and
polish to bring it to life. Potential for the handy-
man. You know these miniature bring a bit of
money when they are very nice. $350-$500.

Vienna one weight, ca 1885. Long, slim case, del-
icate finials top and bottom. I am not convinced the
bottom finial is correct, but if it is, it will need
some attention, at least fit the stub to the case as it
broke away. The walnut case is 43" long, three
glasses; at least one side glass will need stops to
hold it in the case. 8 day movement is one weight;
time only of course, not signed anywhere, but is
clean and running. Brass bob, wood stick, brass
weight, old brass winding key, and porcelain beat
scale. Two piece porcelain dial is near perfect,
brass dial rings, and a pair of great hands. One
good thing about a one weight clock, you do not
have to listen to it make noise all night. $400-$600.

$400
Vienna Regulator, 1 weight, Altdeutsch style,
ca 1880, with and adequate amount of intricate
trim and ornamentation. It was made during the
same period as #253, but there is loads of dif-
ference. This one is slim and trim, 49" tall, a
beautiful walnut case. It has small columns top
and bottom of each side of the door. They look
like mini columns with finials on the ends.
Three good glasses, very possibly has the orig-
inal top and all finials. There is a brass weight
pulley, a slender brass weight, different than
the normal Vienna weight, brass pendulum
bob, old wood stick, tiny end wind crank, and
a beat scale. Excellent two piece porcelain dial,
very slim and intricate hands, and the dial is
signed, "Karl Hartel / In Wein". He was proba-
bly a clock dealer in Vienna. The 8 day
unsigned movement is running efficiently. It is
a long clock, but everything about it is slim and
more delicate than we normally see on a
Vienna Regulator. $500-$750.

$350
Vienna Regulator, one weight timepiece, ca
1920's-1930's. Nothing is signed although I
think it is a Becker. The walnut case is 32.5",
beveled glass in the bottom with an etched
design in the middle, the top glass is not beveled,
maybe never had a beveled glass, or may be a
replaced glass. Excellent two piece porcelain
dial, great brass hands, brass pendulum bob,
wood stick, brass weight, and an old winding
crank. The 8 day movement is clean, unsigned,
and running strong. $400-$600.

$400
French bronze and onyx mantle
clock, ca late 1800's. The case is
15" high; 13" wide, complete,
clean, statues have good gilt and
finish.
There
is
considerable
bronze, turned feet, band around
the base, inset trim around the
base, swag of flowers around the
dial, and the large statues and top
ornament. Machined French sash
with a bowed/beveled glass, very
nice gold hands, bowed porcelain
dial with loops of painted flowers
around the numerals, everything
making a wonderful front attrac-
tion. On the back is another hinged bronze door, a nickeled bell, French
pendulum, and the 8 day movement. The movement is signed, "Samuel
Marti", who was the maker of the movement, and probably not the case.
The mark on the movement indicates he won a "metal of gold" at a 1900
Paris exhibition. A very attractive clock in excellent condition. $450-
$650.
