Horton's Antique Clocks

$12,000
Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. "No.0 Bank", ca 1880. Case made of walnut
and is 61" high. Light restoration to the case many years ago, possibly a
couple of finials replaced, if so they were too well turned for me to tell
from originals. It anything is replaced we cannot see it, so the case was
probably just tightened or glued at some joints, cleaned and polished, and
any work done was simply to make it look like it just came from the fac-
tory. This is a prestigious clock and as collectable as the slightly longer
No.1 Regulator. The two dials have aged nicely but too nice to be 125 years
old. Correct and original movements, nickel pendulum bob, and hands.
There are small dents in the bob, but certainly not objectionable. The bot-
tom slides off easily and was made that way so the clock could be used as
a shelf clock. This is an extra nice early clock that has been hanging in our
office for several years. Ly-Calendar, pages 121-122. $12,500-$15,000.

$4000
Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. "No.2
Bank", ca 1880. 8 day movement is
powered by two iron weights.
Walnut case is 60" high and in orig-
inal condition except for a small
piece of wood put behind the dial for
support. The finish is original,
slightly crusty, and could use some
furniture polish. We believe the two
dials are original, there is insignifi-
cant wear on the time dial and stains
on the calendar dial, and both are
very old, if not original. New dial
papers can be ordered from Joel
Warren. Three correct hands, side
door lock, original door glass, and
correct brass bob and wood stick.
The old weights appear to be origi-
nal or at least period. All the wood
moldings are intact and all finials
are original. Some No. 2 Bank cases
came without lower finials. These
bottom finials and everything else
on this case, came from the factory.
The solid plate 8 day movement,
pendulum arrangement and perpetu-
al calendar movement with all the
linkage, can be viewed in Ly-
Calendar, pages 128-129. We were
surprised to find we have never sold
a No.2 Bank, and can find no
recorded sales anywhere. $4000-
$5000.

Seth Thomas Clock Co. "Office
Calendar
No.13",
ca
1889.
Cleaned/polished 48" high oak case
with all moldings and attached and
applied ornaments that belong on the
case. Nothing repaired or added, all
original. Weight driven time only
movement is signed and running.
There are no extra holes around the
movement or dial indicating the clock
is all original and not been messed
with. It has the correct pendulum,
beat scale, weight, old key, two dials
and all four hands, appear to all be
original to the clock. The dials are
original but repainted professionally
and look very nice. We sold clocks 20
years before we had a No.13, and
lately we have had a half dozen. We
have noticed that this model may sell
for up to $16,000 at east coast auc-
tions. Ly-Calendar, pages 256-257;
Ly-Seth Thomas, page 101. $4000-
$6000.
