$125
Black marble case, 17"
wide, 14" high, small chips
on the edges, no major
breaks or repairs. A plain
but attractive clock, four
full columns with brass
capitals and bases. Beveled
glass in the brass sash,
brass two piece dial, origi-
nal French hands, and a
Brocot escapement. Dial
signed by a Montreal,
Canada,
retailer.
Movement is 8 day, signed only, "A.1.", quality exposed balance wheel
escapement, striking a large standing coil gong. Key is in the case. It has
a perforated, cloth covered, hinged metal back door, all there but will need
some attention to secure it better to the back. The movement, dial, bezel,
and gong, are well worth the minimum. $200-$350.

$150
French slate and marble case.
Black base with white veins is a
different material than the upper
all black section. If you get the
impression the top is wider than
the bottom, you are correct. I
thought right away, that is two
cases glued together. No, it is
original, different I must say.
The case is 11" wide and 13¼"
high. There are edge nicks, but
on black they do not show like
other colors. Two piece porce-
lain dial has a faint hairline at 6
o'clock, good French hands and
a Brocot escapement. No back
glass, pendulum inside the case.
Typical French round move-
ment, 8 day, bell strike, outside count wheel, signed by the "Marti" com-
pany and, "Dasson & Godeau / Paris". $200-$300.

many times. Probably too heavy to move. The big piece has two or three
small chips, whereas the side pieces have taken a little more abuse. Chips
do not show on black marble, thankfully. The large piece is 18 ½" high
and 15" wide, a glass in the center that allows you to see the pendulum
swing. Nice beveled glass, attractive sash and surround, two piece porce-
lain dial is perfect, original hands, and a Brocot escapement mechanism.
The back door to the center section is a large piece of marble, hinged, and
with a knob. There is a metal door covering the round French movement
that is 8 day and signed "Japy Freres". It strikes a nickel bell on half hours
and hours. Pendulum and key in the case. $500-$750.

$150
French clock with statue, ca 1901.
The metal on the bottom half is
bronze/brass, while the top half
including the statue is metal.
White onyx inserts on the base.
The top metal has been repainted
but there was no way they could
match the bronze base, therefore
we have two shades. Nice statue
on top of a man (or a very young
girl) with his or her dog. The
clock is 14" wide and 19½" high.
The bottom piece of onyx has two
small cracks that actually appear
to be veins in the onyx. One piece
porcelain dial has a very faint
hairline at the 9, and a pair of nice
French hands. There is a perforat-
ed and hinged back door, cloth
covered. French movement is 8
day, bell strike, signed, "Paris"
and the Japy Freres & Cie. Trademark. Pendulum and key in the case.
$300-$500.
