Horton's Antique Clocks
760.
$150
French black enam-
eled iron case, styl-
ish curved front and
has lots of appoint-
ments, particularly
the four wood
columns painted in
mottled black, green
and cream, and with
metal capitals and
bases. Two of the
columns are miss-
ing, one each side in
the back. Applied
ornaments on top
and bottom. On the
front, bottom, is an
unusual bullet or rounded section. One piece porcelain dial, painted
numerals, correct hands, and a cast brass design over the dial center.
Beveled glass in the French sash. Brass hinged back door, with cutouts
and it is cloth covered. Round French 8 day movement, striking a large
standing gong. The movement is signed, "Japy Freres". Pendulum and
key inside the case. $200-$300.

French mar-

inserts over
the front,

the dial cen-
ter. The case
is 15" wide,
10" high,
the usual
minute edge
c h i p s ,
incised designs over the front are gold filled. Black marble dial, numerals
are incised and gold filled, good gold hands. The dial is signed by a sell-
ing dealer, sash with beveled glass over the dial. Bowed and beveled glass
in a hinged sash, over the back opening. French round 8 day movement,
bell striking, pendulum and key included. A very different looking clock,
and very heavy. $250-$400.

$75
French marble case with
veined marble ornaments
on the front, sides and top.
A chink off the top back
corner, doctored with black
paint, and a chip on the
front, top left, that does not
show on black marble.
Luckily we are dealing with
black marble where warts
do not show. The case is 9"
wide, 11½" high. Beveled
glass over the two piece
porcelain dial, original
hands and Brocot escape-
ment. The dial has faint
hairlines and one pretty
good chip at 6 o'clock that
was repaired, or at least
dabbed with white paint.
Hinged and perforated door with cloth covering, over the back opening.
Round French 8 day movement is signed, "Marti & Cie". Strikes a large
standing gong. $100-$200.

Ansonia Clock Co. mar-
ble case clock, "El
Audran", ca 1904. Two
tone marble case, pri-
marily black trimmed
with mottled browns.
Case is 9¾" high, 9¼"
wide, small chip on
upper left corner. Good
two piece porcelain dial,
correct hands, open
escapement, beveled
glass in the sash. No
back door, signed 8 day
movement, rack and
snail strike on a
Cathedral gong, pendu-
lum and key inside. Ly-Ansonia #1184. $100-$200.

$150
Ansonia Clock Co marble case
clock, "Patience", ca 1901. The
two toned marble case is 14¼"
wide, 9½" high, some mottled
brown marble used around the
front but the case is primarily
black marble. Some places
have incised designs that are
gold filled. The most minuscule
of edge nicks. Beveled glass in
the sash, brass dial with black
painted numerals, correct
hands and a most unusual open
escapement and inner dial
arrangement. The kind I would
swap to a much more expensive
clock. No back glass, 8 day
movement, rack and snail
strike, pendulum and key
inside, strikes half hours and
hours on a Cathedral gong. Ly-
Ansonia #1213. $150-$300.

$125
French two tone
marble clock, art
deco style, ca
1920's. The case
is 12½" wide,
9½" high, a few
very tiny edge
nicks, four brass
feet underneath.
Unusual brass
frieze across the
bottom, again art
deco, the scene
makes no sense
to me. Silver dial
and sash, black numerals and hands, all are original and in good condi-
tion. Round brass 8 day movement, outside count wheel, strikes a brass
bell, not signed, but has a serial number. Hinged brass back door with
cutouts, and is cloth covered. $150-$250.
